Chandigarh to observer 2007 as Year of Placement of ex servicemen

The Chandigarh Administration has decided to observe the year 2007 as the “Year of Placement of ex-servicemen.
During the year, a special drive will be launched to place ex-servicemen in the existing and new avenues of employment, both in public and private sectors. Help of Private sector would also be solicited. Ex-Servicemen are a vast repository of human resources in varied semi and technical skills. They are specialized in a host of fields like technical, mechanical, transportation, administrative, medical, aviation, security, fire safely, inventory management, tourism, hospitality, construction, IT industry, etc.
More schemes to utilize the services productively of ex-servicemen would be explored so that maximum employment for ex-service could be generated. As per the directions of UT Administrator Gen. (Retd) S.F. Rodrigues, Home Secretary Mr. Krishna Mohan has requested all the departments and offices of Chandigarh Administration to take required measures to generate maximum employment for ex-servicemen in the area of Union Territory Chandigarh.
