The 35th Rose Festival is going on in full swing with great pomp and show. The results of Rose Prince and Princess Competition, which was held today at Rose Garden, have been declared.
In the age group of 1 to 1½ years, Harnoor Kaur bagged the first prize of Rose Princess and the second prize in the same category was won by Danika Bhatia. In the age category of 1 ½ to 2 years, Harshita was adjudged as the first prize winner of Rose Princess competition and Ishani Batra stood second in the same category.
In the age group of 2 to 3 years, Ashmit Kaur Reen was the Rose Princess and Kuhu won the second position. In the Rose Prince competition, in the age group of 1 to 11/2 years, Krish Guleria won the first position and Dilraj Singh bagged the second position. In the age group of 1 ½ to 2 years, Harshpreet Singh was adjudged as Rose Price and the second position in the same category went to Kanwaljeet Singh Sidhu. Similarly, in the age group of 2 to 3 years,
Idarsh Khurana won the title of Rose Prince and Angad Sachdeva won the second position in the same category. Various other highlights of the day included a Rose Quiz competition, cultural programme and Kumar Sanu nite.
For making the Rose festival a feast to the ears of the visitors, Tim Hoffman, Performing Artist and Ethnomusicologist, gave an enthralling performance at Art Gallery today. Tim Hoffman has worked on fusion of various Asian music forms. He lectures, writes and sings in Japanese, Hindi and English. He is an authority on performing Indian and Japnees music and has completed 5-year programme in Hindustani Classical music in Flute, using Japanese Shakuhachi instrument.
