Chandigarh bans sale of correction fluid to children

Chandigarh has banned sale of correction fluids to the minor children in the Union Territory, Chandigarh for a period of 60 days.
Orders were issues as a measure of emergency under section 144 CRPC. This order is being issued keeping in view that some minors specially school going children are committing crimes, after using correction fluid (while fluid generally used by typists for making corrections on types matter). It is a matter of grave concern and the recent repots of crimes triggered by its use by juvenile criminals, needs to be taken seriously.
This order shall come into force with effect from the March 7 and shall be effective for upto May 7, 2007. District Magistrate has also prohibited carrying fire arms in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Any breach of this order shall be punishable under the provision of the Indian Penal Code.
