The new excise policy of Chandigarh seeks to promote wine and beer in Chandigahr. After ensuring that the city was virtually overflowing with liquor vends last year, the city has now come up with another excise policy.
The administration said the thrust of the excise policy for the year 2007-08 is to wean away people from hard liquor to low content alcohol such as wine and beer by making their availability relatively easier, to promote decent and dignified premises for sale and consumption of liquor to encourage responsible drinking habits and create an environment where consumption of alcohol is subject to regulation of domestic budget.....READ FULL STORY....
