Chandigarh Administration has invited nominations from various schools for the award of Computer Literacy Excellence Awards(CLEAS). The Department of Information Technology (DIT) has invited these nominations from various schools through the DPI Schools.
This Award has been instituted by Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Government of India, at State and National Level to create IT awareness among schools and to encourage Computer Literacy among students in early stage of schooling. All recognized schools of Chandigarh, Government and private, teaching Computers and Information Technology in their schools are eligible to compete for the award.
The evaluation of the nominations for State level Excellence Awards will be carried out by DIT. Similarly, for the evaluation for National level awards will be carried out by DIT, Govt of India by normalization of the evaluation forwarded by the State/UTs. The Awards will be for three categories namely State Awards, National Awards and an All India Winner Award.
The National award will be given to each school in two categories; Category‘A'- Private/Government Aided Schools and Category‘B' Government/Municipal Schools/Kendriya & Novodaya Vidyalays. Each school under the state award will be given a trophy and cash award of 1.50 lakhs. The winning school in both of the category ‘A’ and category ‘B’ will receive Rs. 7 Lakh each whereas the winner of the National Award will be given trophy & cash award of Rs.10 lakhs.
The last date for submission of proforma by schools to the Department of IT, Chandigarh Administration through the DPI Schools is January 15, 2007. Thereafter the same will be evaluated by a Committee of Chandigarh Administra
