Chandigarh district courts gets a website

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vijender Jain, the Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court launched the website of Chandigarh District Courts (http://chddistrictcourts.gov.in) here today. Hon’ble Mr .Justice S.S. Nijjer, Administrative Judge, Chandigarh Session Division and Chairman Computerisation Committee (Punjab & Haryana High Court) presided over the function. Other members of Computerisation Committee Their Lordships Hon’ble Mr. Justice J.S. Khehar (Executive Chairman, U.T. Legal Services Authority), Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.M. Kumar, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta and Hon’ble Mr. Justice S.S. Saron (Chairman, Chandigarh City Courts Computerization Committee) also graced the occasion.
With the launch of this website, litigants, lawyers and public at large would have access to Daily Cause lists, Judgments, brief orders passed by various Courts functioning in the Session Division. Functioning of all the Courts and Offices in Chandigarh Session Division has now been computerized. The project was undertaken under the auspicies of Supreme Court of India and Ministry of Law and Justice, Govt. of India and Technical aspect of the project has been completed by National Informatics Centre, New Delhi and its Chandigarh State Unit.
Sh. B.S. Mehandiratta, District & Sessions Judge, Chandigarh welcomed the guests which also included members of the Punjab & Haryana High Court Bar Association, Chandigarh, District Courts Bar Association, Sh. Ajay Rampal SIO, National Informatics Centre, Chandigarh and others. District Bar Association, Chandigarh celebrated the launching of website by hosting tea.
